Reading through your article on the best places to live, an estimated amount is given for the cost of living, for a month. Please supply a breakdown of these costs as some costs may not apply. Does the amount given refer to a family or a single person. $1,100 a month for Davao seems very expensive especially when a studio flat for £254.00 a month can be found in Davao on “Rentpad” and groceries would cost approx. £70 for a single person.

To keep comparisons as close to "apples to apples" as possible, the same cost breakdown is used for each location. You can see an example of the cost elements in the table in the Expat Cost of Living article here.
It shows the type of housing that the budget includes, how many meals are cooked at home vs. eaten out, transportation assumption, etc.
