Hi Mike,

To answer your questions, I need to make a few assumptions, because I don't have all your details.

Can I go to the Philippines as long as I have a return tickets and check out there area.

If you mean specifically for visa purposes, then yes, IF you are from the US, UK, EU, or one of the 157 countries that get visa-free entry into the Philippines.

You also need things like a valid passport, onward ticket with a departure date 30 days from arrival, and and completed eTravel form.

And ask for a 30 day extension

You get 30 days visa free, then you need to apply for a 29 day extension (technically a visa waiver). After the initial 59 days, you can extend your visa by 1, 2, or 6 months at a time for up to 3 years.

And question is if we like it there can I look for work when I'm there. And get work.

If you arrive as a tourist, you cannot legally work in the Philippines. You would need to apply for an appropriate visa that allows employment.
