Hi Mr Marco I am Bessie and my concern is how to get an EED for my fiancé in Nigeria since tourist visa is not yet open from their country. I want to take him to the Philippines to get married.pls help me to secure the EED. Thank you so much
Hi Bessie,
Regrettably, as Nigeria is from a visa-required country (complete list here), getting an EED is only for special circumstances. May I ask how old your finance is?
Hi Marco! We have a team from Dhaka, Bangladesh who will come here in PH for a business related trip. Upon checking in Dhaka - PH Embassy, for them to get a Visa, they need to secure an EED. Kindly advice what’s the fastest way to secure this? Or is there a way not to get EED? Thank you!
Hi Marc,
Citizens from a visa-required country, like Bangladesh, entering the Philippines for a business-related trip requires an EED petition from the Philippines government agency with jurisdiction over your business/company.
The endorsing government agency depends on the type of business you will be engaging in.
For example:
If you need a vendor meeting with a company registered under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), EED has to be requested at the DTI.
If you wanted to sell telecommunication equipment, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) would be the agency.
The endorsing government agency is who petitions the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) for an EED.
However, the big problem is not all government agencies know about, understand, or are willing to deal with the hassles of petitioning for an EED.

Hi Iam a 13a holder in the Philippines and me and my wife is planning on going to Sweden this coming May and go back to the Philippines in August.
We are not vaccinated and i wondering if we are allowed to enter the Philippines again without vaccination?
I would be wery thankful if you could clarify this to me.
Thank you
Hi Andreas,
As a Philippine citizen, your wife is not obligated to be vaccinated to enter the Philippines. She will have to undergo home quarantine procedures.
You can see the requirements for returning Filipinos here.
However, all foreigners, even one holding a valid visa and married to a Filipino citizen, must be vaccinated to enter the country.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
Marco
Hello,
I’m a Filipino planning to travel to Philippines with my family, my husband is Canadian I have 2 minor kids ages 4 and 7 years old and both are naturalized Filipino but still holding Canadian passport. We are all unvaccinated, are we allowed to enter Philippines? Thank you
Hi Lyn,
As Philippine citizens, you and your children can enter with negative tests and quarantine. However, no unvaccinated foreigners are allowed, so your Canadian citizen husband could not join you without getting vaccinated first.
Cheers,
Marco
Hello…my mother is a Filipino that was born and raised there. She married my American father and moved to the US and became an American Citizen. Now that she is 81 and widowed, she wants to go back to the PI to stay with her family indefinitely. Does she need to get dual citizenship, or is there a maximum stay length for her without it or a Visa? Thank you.
Hi Cassandra,
As a former Filipino citizen, who was naturalized in the US, she gets "Balikbayan Privilege (commonly referred to as a Balikbayan visa)."
With a Balikbayan visa, she can enter the Philippines for one year but then will need to extend her stay at a Bureau of Immigration office (BI). Extensions can be for 1, 2, or 6 months, but each extension costs money. She can continue to extend for 3-years, then would need to do a visa run (fly out of the Philippines for a day and return) and start the process again.
However, Dual citizenship is the fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to stay long-term. Once she gets her dual citizenship, she never has to extend saving money and time from having to go to the BI office.
Please contact us if she has more questions or needs help with her dual citizenship or the Balikbayan visa.

Hey, there! My British husband wants to travel with me in the Philippines to stay about more than 2 months but we are living outside the Philippines right now. We would like to avail the 13A permanent non-quota immigration visa as we are planning to retire in Philippines 10years from now. Is it possible?
Hi Lucky,
If you are talking short term, as a UK Citizen he gets visa-free entry. If you are talking long-term, then you can read more about applying for a 13a from outside the Philippines here.
If you have specific questions about your 13a process, drop up a line for a visa consultation.
Cheers,
Marco
